Dannon had 4 new flavors that they were planning to brand for the Washington DC, Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston & San Francisco's marathon.
Prior the marathon, Dannon found out that that the topper flavors (granola, chocolate chips, coconut flakes) were not satisfactory. Because of the time frame to get the yogurts to these events, Dannon and Geometry Global needed a quick logistics solution to get this going. We were asked to find a cold storage facility that could accommodate 118,500 yogurt cups. For each marathon, Dannon had a fixed number of flavor / topper combinations that we needed to fulfill.
We found a cold storage facility in Henderson, NV, that met all of Dannon's requirements (food grade facility, temperature between 35-45 degrees with a team that could manage a full scale pick / pack program for each yogurt cup, topper and label).
For each marathon, the warehouse managed a full scale inventory control, by individual units, and they would indicate me the number of each yogurt flavor, topper flavor, and label received prior the delivery. We managed to accomplish our client's logistics need by shipping the yogurts via refrigerated truck to each event. It was a success!
