The Most Expensive Electric Car in the World ON TOUR
Press Release - May 30, 2012

The Most Expensive Electric Car in the World ON TOUR

In March this year, Rolls Royce, a high end luxury carmaker, unveiled for the first time a model powered by an electric motor. The “Phantom 102EX experimental electric“ was launched at the Geneva motor show, and will now be going on a world tour with Rock-It Germany.

The most expensive electric car in the world will travel as a “running research project“ across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America until the end of the year. The goal of this program is to gauge the reaction of owners and the public on the idea of an electric Rolls-Royce Phantom.

With the expertise of Silke Renoth as lead operations agent, Rock-It Cargo Germany is responsible for the safe and on-time delivery of the 6 meter long and 2.7 ton strong 'Phantom 102EX’ to local dealers, in order to be presented to a selective clientele.

Because of tight schedules, the transport logistics will be handled nearly exclusively by air freight. Special equipment will be used to guarantee safe and intact delivery at all of the destinations.

Johnny English – Reborn – World Premiere in Sydney

Rowan Atkinson, best known for his role as "Mr. Bean“, had the honour to sit behind the wheel of a Rolls Royce ‘Phantom’ for his new film – “Johnny English Reborn“. This extraordinary 9.0 liter V 16 model of the iconic British car played a significant role in the film, and therefore had to have a showing at the premiere of the movie in Australia. “Mr. Bean“ himself, drove the prototype straight onto the red carpet in front of the entrance to the movie theatre.

Rock-It Cargo again took charge to the shipping from Goodwood to Sidney, literally direct onto the red carpet. The outstanding challenge afterwards was that only 4 days after the great event in the ‘Down Under’, the vehicle was needed at the IAA in Frankfurt to be admired by a curious public attending the automobile show. It goes without saying that the Phantom arrived without any delay, on time and in place.
