The Production Network and Rock-It Cargo Team Up To Support AIDS Awareness through World Vision's "Step Into Africa" Mobile Exhibit
The World Vision Experience: AIDS mobile exhibit is now touring churches across the country. This emotional exhibit allows attendees to walk through a simulated African village and experience the devastating effects of the AIDS virus in a personal and intimate way. World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision’s HopeChild Initiative pairs sponsors with children living in communities severely affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The tour also promotes the HopeChild initiative.

Visitors to the nearly 2,500 square foot exhibit designed and fabricated by The Production Network walk through a replica of an African village while listening on headsets to a personal audio track telling the story, in first person, of a child whose life has been affected by AIDS. Each guest hears one of four stories, beginning their journey in the “womb” and ending at the clinic. In the clinic, the guest finds out if the child in their “life lane” is infected with HIV/AIDS by having their hand stamped with either a negative or a positive symbol. Guests proceed to the Resolution Corridor where current information about the child is provided. All guests proceed to and hear the same audio for the Chapel (where they have the opportunity to sit and linger), Prayer Wall (where they are encouraged to write and post a note or prayer), and Hope Wall (which features child sponsorship opportunities). For the individual stories, guests move through one of four “life lanes”. Each story consists of multiple scenes and education stations. Some scenes have a full vignette (scenic story points theatrically told using props – some of which are actual items from the real child in the story - and graphics) all displayed in unique hinged crates. Other scenes take place while standing in the life lane. Extraordinary photographs throughout include the actual children and all were shot on location. An African market place awaits guests at the end of the tour where they can learn more about sponsorship, World Vision, and how to get involved. This is the ‘call to action’ of the Experience.

The tour consists of two (2) travelling mobile exhibits, one on the East Coast, the other on the West Coast. The exhibit footprint is approximately 52’ x 44’
